Mr. Arnold is a character in Season 2 of the Prime Video series Good Omens. He owns "Arnold's" Music Shop on Whickber Street.
Background[]
Mr. Arnold’s family music shop was founded in 1950. The shop was moved to Wickber Street by his father sometime after the previous stores were cleaned out in the 1970’s.[1]
Went to a Shopkeepers and Street Traders meeting once ten years ago where the members were 'wittering on about the Christmas lights and passed a legislation about the improper use of apostrophes on signs in windows' and vowed to never go again.
Significance in series[]
Mr. Arnold is playing the Doctor Who theme on the harpsichord when Aziraphale comes into his shop with Crowley. Aziraphale tells him that is most appropriate and will need him to bring it with him that evening. Mr. Arnold gives him a confused smile, showing he doesn't understand what Aziraphale is talking about. Aziraphael says it's most important as they need music as the Shopkeepers and Street Traders monthly meeting and that he trusts they will see him there. Mr. Arnold crosses his arms before saying no thank you. Surprised Aziraphale tells him there will be sandwiches. Mr. Arnold explains he went to a meeting once and there is literally nothing that will get him there that evening. Aziraphale expresses disappointment, saying he leaves him with no alternative. Confused, Mr. Arnold glances as Crowley, who is also confused. Aziraphale tells him that he has in his bookshop a 1965 Doctor Who Annual. Unimpressed, Mr. Arnold tells him there was no 1965 Doctor Who Annual before attempting to tell him when the first one was published in 1966. Aziraphale cuts him off saying September 1965, that it was never printed due to problems at the BBC and his edition is the only known copy. Stunned, Mr. Arnold asks that Aziraphale will let him look at it. Aziraphale tells him that if Mr. Arnold comes to the meeting tonight with four other musicians, he'll let him have the book. Shocked, he nods to agree.
